MEET ANGELA ROBERTS
As a working mother of three, Angela brings a perspective shaped by lived experience and everyday problem-solving. She is committed to bringing that same focus to the State Capitol to make government more responsive to the families it serves.
Angela Roberts built her experience working as a paralegal and legal transcriptionist inside the systems that shape people’s daily lives — work that demands precision, fairness, and accountability and has given her a clear understanding of how policy decisions succeed, or fail, in everyday life. She has also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer, standing alongside children and families navigating complex systems during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Together, these experiences have reinforced her belief that effective government must be transparent, responsive, and grounded in real lived experience.
In 2026, Angela ran during a special election for Louisiana House District 69, building a campaign focused on the issues families continue to face every day: addressing rising insurance costs that strain family budgets, improving infrastructure, strengthening early education and early intervention, and ensuring government operates with transparency and accountability. That campaign was not an endpoint.
Angela remains actively engaged in her community and in Louisiana’s political landscape, continuing to advocate for policies that reflect both sound governance and real-world impact. She is running for Louisiana House District 69 because this community deserves leadership that understands both policy and practice — and how decisions made at the Capitol affect real families.

REAL COMMITMENT, REAL IMPACT
This campaign is about:
Insurance families can afford
From property and auto to health and small business coverage, rising premiums are putting pressure on every part of family life. Louisiana needs long-term solutions that increase market stability, improve oversight, and protect consumers without passing the burden onto working families.Infrastructure that works for people
From flooding and drainage to roads, utilities, and long-term resilience, these systems impact daily life, property values, and economic opportunity.
Louisiana needs smart, forward-looking investments that address current challenges while preparing for future risks. That means prioritizing flood mitigation, maintaining critical systems, and ensuring infrastructure funding is used effectively and transparently.Early education and early intervention that give children a strong start
Early childhood education and intervention is the cornerstone upon which all children are successful. Investing in children early improves outcomes across the board — academically, economically, and socially. Strong early systems reduce long-term strain on schools, healthcare, and public resources while giving children the foundation they need to succeed.Safer communities through stability and access
Real public safety means addressing root causes, not just reacting to crises. When families have access to quality education, stable resources, and support systems, communities are stronger and safer. Strengthening these systems is one of the most effective ways to reduce violence, improve outcomes, and create long-term stability.Transparency and accountability in government
People deserve to understand how decisions are made and how their tax dollars are spent. Government should be accessible, responsive, and accountable — in action, and not just in claim.
These are practical issues that affect everyday life.
District 69 deserves practical leadership.
What We’ve Built Together:
Six weeks. Grassroots. $14,000 against a $300,000 machine, and yet still achieved 40% of the vote.
This is what building something real looks like. We proved that District 69 is not out of reach.
In 2026, Angela was the only Democratic candidate in a historically Republican district where recent elections have been decided by wide margins.
Starting with little name recognition in a district where others had spent years building strong political relationships and deep financial backing, this campaign was built entirely from the ground up — led by a grassroots team of volunteers, with no paid staff for the duration of the race.
Every conversation, every door knocked, and every handwritten postcard sent was part of a people-powered effort to reach voters.
We were up against an opponent backed by ~$300,000, while our campaign raised just $14,000 by Election Day.
And still, within only six weeks, we didn’t just compete — we gained ground and delivered:
40% of the vote in a four-candidate race, and came within just 3 points of a runoff;
Won 14 of 35 precincts, with several exceeding 60% of the vote and some reaching over 90%
Outperformed 2024 Democratic presidential performance by double digits in multiple precincts
Competed and gained ground in traditionally Republican areas where Trump won by 30–40 points
Drove 16% turnout, outperforming comparable elections statewide including in traditionally high-turnout areas
And that same direct connection, responsiveness, and commitment didn’t end once the votes were counted.
Angela continues to be an active advocate for families, supporting children and education initiatives, and remains engaged in the issues that affect District 69 every day, with a message focused on real issues affecting everyday families.
This district is winnable. Now, we’re building early to finish what we started.
The 2026 campaign was a foundation. It showed that when you meet people where they are, focus on real issues, and build trust, this district moves.
We’re building earlier, reaching more people, and continuing the work because the goal was never just one election. It’s long-term, sustained leadership that shows real commitment and delivers real impact for this community.
Together, we’re not starting over.
We’re building on what we already proved is possible.
